The Produce Market is the place to get salads and such. The new salad bar is an island in the middle of the new serving area.
The Produce Market takes the salad bar approach and gives it a new feel, with the special serving trays for the lettuce and such.
Croutons, bacon bits, and those little noodle things are elevated and in their own bowls. Salad dressing was considerably neatened up from before, now being in their own little pitchers, meaning no ladles to get stuff everywhere when not careful. Now the worst you can do is drench your salad.
And that’s The Produce Market!
Cafe Roma is your place for Italian food, from the ordinary to the unusual.
First of all, pizza. When my mother comes to D-Hall, she has it for dessert. Go figure.
And of course, pasta and tomato sauce, complete with grated cheese beside it.
And for more sophisticated pasta dishes, the chef makes it and serves it to you right here at the end of the station.
And there you have it! Cafe Roma.
Walking left from Cafe Roma, there’s Accents. Accents has Asian as well as vegetarian foods for you. Much of this was known as Pan Geos last year, a name that has since been dropped.
Here we have the rice that is used in many of the dishes here, being stirred and prepared for serving.
Speaking of Pan Geos, remember how in the old D-Hall how they had the pictures of food on the wall? Now they go a step further, and have food on display throughout, here showcasing some chives and red peppers.
These are some of the dishes available at Accents, which is all made-to-order. Beef Fried Rice if you’re looking for some Fresh Flavors of Asia, and Athenian Rice Pilaf, if you’re interested in something from the Granary.
And that is Accents!
Now, continue around to the back of Accents, and you reach D-Hall Deli. Here you can get most any deli fare from the traditional to the unusual prepared for you. All you have to do is ask.
Further on down, you can get deli wraps and potato chips. I am a fan of the deli wraps, personally. They’re neat, though you have to be careful about the open bottom end while you’re eating them.
That’s D-Hall Deli for you! A favorite for lunch, indeed.
